We believe you should know exactly what is coming before you ever walk through our door. Every step below is exactly how your first visits at Stewart Chiropractic Center will unfold.
Paperwork & Getting Started
All new practice members are requested to fill out the new practice member health application form as completely as possible. Please read and sign all other forms as well.
If you have insurance, we will also complete a complimentary insurance benefits check so you have full clarity on your coverage before moving forward. You will know exactly what your plan covers — and what it does not — before any decisions are made.
Your Complimentary Consultation
A one-on-one consultation will be conducted to discuss your health issues and goals, uncover the layers of past damage and trauma, and help determine the root cause of your health issues.
This consultation is complimentary and helps us determine what additional evaluation or testing — if any — is appropriate so we can make recommendations that are specific to you. We want to hear your story and understand what you hope life feels like on the other side of this.
Neurological Diagnostic TestingINSiGHT CLA / CORESCORE / HRV
A comprehensive chiropractic evaluation and Neurological Diagnostic Testing will be performed to further determine the exact cause of your health problems — using our state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to locate the root cause of any dysfunction or disease within your body.
This examination helps us scientifically understand the subluxation processes going on in your spine. It also gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress — seeing how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning over time. This is far more accurate than depending on “how you feel” on any given day.
During your evaluation you may be asked to:
- ↕Bend forward, sideways, or backwards — misaligned spinal vertebrae can be revealed through these movements
- ⚕Perform specific orthopedic tests — to determine the exact components involved in your health challenges
- 🚶Gait Analysis — evaluating your walking pattern reveals abnormalities in balance and alignment within your pelvis and spine
- 📐Postural Evaluation — posture abnormalities reveal whether misalignments exist within your spinal column
These exercises provide vital information regarding your motor skills, balance, and gait — leading the doctor to a better understanding of your current state of health. They also help determine your range of motion, muscle tone and strength, and overall integrity of your nervous system.
Next, a short physical assessment will be performed utilizing both motion and static palpation (palpation means to assess with your hands) to explore the alignment of your spine and other structures, as well as provide information on any stimuli that may cause pain or discomfort.
Additional TestingX-Rays if Clinically Necessary
The doctor will advise you if additional tests are needed, including any Chiropractic Postural Specific X-rays. X-rays are recommended only when clinically necessary for your safety and the quality of your care — not everyone needs them.
When taken, X-rays give us critical information including:
- 🦴Position of the spinal bones — exactly where misalignment exists in your spine
- 🔍Quality of the spine — and the safety of adjusting it for your specific situation
- ⏱Relative length of time subluxations may have been present in your spine — helping us understand the full history
Commonly, most patients who need X-rays receive three spinal X-rays at the beginning of care. The Doctors will then take quality time to review and analyze for vertebral subluxation and spinal misalignment.
A Principled Doctors Report & Report of Findings
This is your most important appointment. A Principled Doctors Report and Report of Findings will be conducted — at which time the cause of your current condition will be discussed in full.
A doctor or a member of our care team will sit down with you — unhurried — and walk through everything we found in plain language. This is where we connect the dots from your first visit and personalize your next steps moving forward.
At your Report of Findings, we will:
- ✓Review your CORESCORE and scan findings in plain language — no medical jargon
- ✓Explain what we found and what it means for your health goals and daily life
- ✓Determine whether you are a candidate for chiropractic care
- ✓Provide clear care recommendations and action steps moving forward
- ✓Review insurance benefits (if applicable) and answer every question so you can make a fully informed decision
After reviewing your case, the doctor will decide if you are a candidate for chiropractic care and a thorough explanation of care recommendations will be provided. The decision is always yours. No pressure. No rush.
