The five most common questions from new patients — answered directly.

Is the consultation really complimentary?

Yes — completely. Every new patient begins with a complimentary one-on-one consultation so we can understand your goals, health history, and what brought you in. There is no charge, no obligation, and no pressure to commit to anything.

Is chiropractic care safe for pregnancy and kids?

Yes. Our doctors are trained in Webster Technique, specializing in safe, gentle prenatal chiropractic care. Our pediatric adjustments use no more pressure than you would use to test the ripeness of a tomato — safe from newborns through teenagers.

Do you take insurance?

Many of our patients use insurance. We also offer a complimentary insurance benefits check as part of your new patient experience so you have full clarity on what your plan covers before making any decisions. All payments are handled in-office.

How many visits before I start care?

Our goal is to get the healing process started as soon as possible. Visit 1 is your complimentary consultation and neurological evaluation. Visit 2 is your Principled Doctors Report and Report of Findings, where we review everything and present your personalized care plan. You decide what comes next — no commitment until you are ready.

New Patient & Booking Questions

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online at gostewarthealth.com/book/ or call us at (615) 447-5088 and our team will be happy to help you find a time that works for your family.

What happens at the first visit?

Your first visit includes a one-on-one consultation to listen to your story and health goals, neurological diagnostic testing using our INSiGHT CLA scanning system, and a review of what we find. We explain everything before proceeding — nothing happens without your agreement.

What should I expect during my first visits?

Our goal is to get the healing process started as soon as possible. Visit 1 gathers your health history and objective neurological data. Visit 2 is your Principled Doctors Report and Report of Findings, where Dr. Sam or Dr. Clare reviews everything and presents your personalized care plan.

Do you accept walk-ins?

We recommend booking ahead so we can reserve dedicated time for you. If you need same-day availability, call us at (615) 447-5088 — we will do our best to accommodate you.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Loose, flexible clothing is ideal so we can perform a thorough evaluation and, if appropriate, begin your first adjustment comfortably.

What if I don’t see a time that works?

Call us at (615) 447-5088 — our team will work with you to find an option. We want your scheduling experience to be as easy as your care experience.

What forms do I need to fill out?

New patient health application forms are required before your first visit. You can download forms from our Patient Forms page to complete ahead of time — it makes your first visit smoother and shorter.

What is the Principled Doctors Report?

The Principled Doctors Report and Report of Findings (ROF) is your second visit — and your most important appointment. Dr. Sam or Dr. Clare sits down with you, reviews your neurological scan results in plain language, and presents a personalized care plan. No pressure. No rush. The decision is always yours.

Our Approach — Gentle Care & Neurological Scans

What is the INSiGHT CLA / CORESCORE scan?

The INSiGHT CLA is a neurological scanning system that measures how your nervous system is functioning using objective data — producing your personal CORESCORE. It measures HRV (heart rate variability), surface EMG muscle tension along your spine, and thermal patterns revealing nervous system stress. No guessing — just your body’s real numbers.

What is Torque Release Technique (TRT)?

TRT is the most gentle, precise chiropractic method available. Instead of manual manipulation (which can involve cracking sounds), TRT uses the Integrator instrument to deliver a specific, low-force adjustment directly to the nervous system. It is safe for every age — from newborns to grandparents. Stewart Chiropractic Center specializes in TRT and serves families throughout Hendersonville.

Will I need X-rays?

Not always — X-rays are recommended only when clinically necessary for your safety and the quality of your care. When needed, they give us critical information about the position of your spinal bones and how long subluxations may have been present. Your doctor will explain exactly why X-rays are being recommended before proceeding.

Does an adjustment hurt?

Most patients describe our care as gentle, comfortable, and relaxing. Because we use Torque Release Technique — no popping, no cracking, no twisting — there is no forceful manipulation. The Integrator delivers a precise, light-touch adjustment. Many patients, including infants, fall asleep during their adjustments.

What is a Vertebral Subluxation?

A Vertebral Subluxation is a misalignment in your spine that creates interference in your nervous system — affecting how your brain communicates with the rest of your body. Our entire examination process is focused on detecting and correcting subluxations using specific, neurologically-based chiropractic care.

Pregnancy, Babies & Kids

Can chiropractic help with pregnancy-related discomfort?

Many pregnant patients seek care for common discomforts including back pain, pelvic pain, round ligament discomfort, and sciatica. Webster Technique supports overall function and pelvic balance — Dr. Clare will discuss your specific goals and what is appropriate for your pregnancy.

Is chiropractic safe for babies and newborns?

Yes. Pediatric chiropractic care at Stewart uses Torque Release Technique with no more pressure than you would use to test the ripeness of a tomato. We see babies from the day of birth. Many parents bring their newborns in after the birth process — gentle TRT adjustments support proper nervous system development from the very beginning.

My child is nervous — what is the visit like?

We love children and we know that new experiences can feel big for little ones. We keep visits calm and unhurried, explain everything in simple, age-appropriate language, and always move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable. Many children look forward to their visits — and often fall asleep during their adjustments.

What ages do you see?

We serve every age from newborns to grandparents. Our entire family is welcome at Stewart Chiropractic Center. Whether it is a 3-day-old infant or an 80-year-old grandparent, our gentle TRT approach is safe, effective, and appropriate for every stage of life.

Do you serve Spanish-speaking families?

Sí — Se Habla Español. Dr. Gabe Mendoza and our bilingual team serve Spanish-speaking families in Hendersonville and across Middle Tennessee with full chiropractic care in Spanish. No language barrier, ever. Su familia es bienvenida.

Insurance, Cost & Paperwork

What if I don’t have insurance?

That is completely okay. Call us at (615) 447-5088 and our team will walk you through your options. We believe every family in Hendersonville deserves access to quality neurologically-based chiropractic care regardless of insurance status.

How do I complete the complimentary insurance benefits check?

Simply let our team know you have insurance when you book. We handle the benefits check as part of your new patient setup — you do not need to do anything extra. We will have your benefits information ready before your visit so there are no surprises.

What forms do I need before my first visit?

All new patients complete our new patient health application form before their first visit. You can download forms from our Patient Forms page to complete ahead of time — this makes your first visit more efficient and allows us to spend more time listening to your story.

Conditions & Health Goals

What conditions do you help with?

Patients come to Stewart Chiropractic Center for many reasons — including back and neck discomfort, headaches and migraines, sciatica, allergies, ear infections, pregnancy-related discomfort, sports concerns, pediatric developmental support, and overall family wellness goals. Our approach addresses the root cause — the nervous system — rather than just symptoms.

Can chiropractic help with allergies?

Many patients report improvement in allergy symptoms through neurologically-based chiropractic care. When there is interference in the nervous system — a Vertebral Subluxation — your immune system can overreact to things it should handle naturally. By removing that interference, we allow your body to regulate itself the way God designed it to.

Do you help with migraines or sciatica?

Many patients seek care at Stewart Chiropractic Center for migraines and sciatic nerve pain. We perform a thorough neurological evaluation to identify the root cause of your specific situation and explain what we recommend before proceeding with any care plan.

How many visits will I need?

Every patient is different — care recommendations depend entirely on your goals and what we find during your evaluation. We will never give you a generic plan. Your Principled Doctors Report will include clear, personalized recommendations with a specific timeline. The decision is always yours to make.

Can I come in just for wellness — without a specific complaint?

Absolutely. Many of our patients have no specific pain complaint — they come in for proactive, preventive nervous system care for themselves and their families. Health is not merely the absence of symptoms. Your CORESCORE gives us an objective baseline to maintain and improve your nervous system function over time.

What is the ADIO philosophy?

ADIO stands for Above Down, Inside Out — the foundational chiropractic philosophy that the body has an innate intelligence to heal itself when the nervous system is free of interference. At Stewart Chiropractic Center, we honor this philosophy in every adjustment, every scan, and every relationship we build with the families we serve.
