See What’s Really Happening Inside Your Nervous System

An INSiGHT CLA scan is a painless, three-part nervous system assessment that measures stress, muscle tension, and temperature patterns along your spine. Results are tracked using the CORESCORE system — a precise, objective way to measure your progress over time.

The Technology

Three Scans. One Number.

Stewart Chiropractic Center uses INSiGHT CLA neuroTECH, a nervous system scanning system built on the same research used by more than 13,000 chiropractors worldwide. Instead of guessing how you’re doing, we measure it.

HRV

neuroPULSE

neuroPULSE measures Heart Rate Variability (HRV) to show how much reserve your body has to adapt to everyday stress and recover from it. Unlike the other two scans, this one doesn’t measure along your spine, it uses a gentle ear-clip or finger sensor, making it comfortable for practice members of every age, from newborns to seniors.

sEMG

neuroCORE

neuroCORE uses surface EMG (sEMG) to read the electrical activity in the muscles along your spine, showing tension and imbalance you can’t see or feel on your own. This sEMG technology was originally developed to monitor astronauts’ spinal muscles during NASA space missions, later certified by the Space Foundation for chiropractic use.

Thermography

neuroTHERMAL

neuroTHERMAL uses infrared thermography to measure subtle left-to-right temperature differences along your spine, reflecting how your autonomic nervous system, the part that runs your organs, glands, and immune system, is functioning. It’s gentle enough to be one of the easiest scans for newborns and young children.

How the CORESCORE System Tracks Your Progress

The CORESCORE is an internal scoring system used by Stewart Chiropractic Center to combine neuroPULSE, neuroCORE, and neuroTHERMAL results into a single objective measure. Dr. Sam and Dr. Clare use it to track how your nervous system is responding to care — visit by visit, with precision.

Why It Matters

Most of Your Nervous System, You Can’t Feel.

Your nervous system has three parts: Sensory, Motor, and Autonomic. Sensory, the part you can consciously feel, makes up only about 10% of it. The other 90%, Motor and Autonomic function, runs quietly in the background.

That’s exactly why someone can feel completely fine right up until a serious health event happens. Pain and symptoms are often the last thing to show up, not the first. A CLA scan gives you a way to see what’s happening in that 90% before it turns into something you can feel.

10%
Sensory
90%
Motor & Autonomic

Only the smallest sliver of your nervous system is something you can consciously feel. A scan measures the rest.

What to Expect

Quick, Painless, and Eye-Opening.

There’s nothing to prepare for and nothing to worry about. Most scans take just a few minutes.

No needles, no radiation

The scan uses sensors placed lightly along your spine, nothing enters your body.

Completely painless

You’ll simply stand still for a few moments while the sensors read your spine.

Genuinely quick

A full neuroCORE scan takes under 2 minutes, and a full neuroTHERMAL scan takes under 30 seconds.

Fast results

Dr. Sam or Dr. Clare walks you through your scan findings the same day, in plain language.

The sEMG technology behind your scan was originally developed to monitor astronauts’ spinal muscles during NASA space missions, and was certified by the Space Foundation in 2006. The INSiGHT system itself has been used in chiropractic practices since 1992 and meets FDA, Health Canada, and CE marking compliance standards. Stewart Chiropractic Center uses this technology at every visit, giving you and Dr. Sam or Dr. Clare objective, trackable answers instead of guesswork, serving families throughout Hendersonville, Gallatin, and Sumner County.

Common Questions

Questions About Your INSiGHT Scan

Have a different question? Visit our full FAQ page.

What is the CORESCORE system?
The CORESCORE is an internal scoring system used at Stewart Chiropractic Center that combines three separate nervous system scans — neuroPULSE (heart rate variability), neuroCORE (muscle activity along your spine), and neuroTHERMAL (temperature patterns along your spine) — into a single objective measure. Dr. Sam and Dr. Clare use it to track how your nervous system is responding to care over time.
Does the INSiGHT CLA scan hurt?
No. The scan is completely painless and non-invasive. There are no needles and no radiation involved. You simply stand still for a few minutes while sensors placed lightly along your spine take their readings.
How is a nervous system scan different from an X-ray?
An X-ray confirms the static alignment of your bones. An INSiGHT CLA scan looks at something different: the dynamic activity of your nervous system, muscle tension, stress response, and temperature regulation along your spine. The two give different, complementary pictures, and unlike an X-ray, a CLA scan uses no radiation at all.
Will I get a scan on my first visit?
Every new practice member at Stewart Chiropractic Center can receive an INSiGHT CLA scan as part of their initial consultation, so Dr. Sam or Dr. Clare can start your care with objective information rather than guesswork.
How often will I be re-scanned?
Dr. Sam or Dr. Clare will recommend a re-scan schedule based on your personal care plan. The CORESCORE system tracks how your results change as your care progresses, giving the practice an objective, visit-by-visit picture of how your nervous system is responding.
What does a CORESCORE number mean?
CORESCORE is an internal reference the practice uses behind the scenes, not a number we hand you to read on your own. Dr. Sam and Dr. Clare combine your neuroPULSE, neuroCORE, and neuroTHERMAL results into this single internal benchmark so they can compare your scans visit to visit and see how your nervous system is responding as your care plan progresses.
Is the INSiGHT CLA scan covered by insurance?
Coverage varies by plan. Our team will review your benefits during your first visit and give you a clear picture of any out-of-pocket cost before care begins. Many patients are surprised at how affordable it is, and the scan is always included as part of your initial new patient appointment at no additional charge.
Can children get an INSiGHT CLA scan?
Yes, and many families choose to have their children scanned early. The INSiGHT CLA scan is completely safe and non-invasive, with no radiation and no needles. Kids typically find it interesting rather than scary. Dr. Sam and Dr. Clare regularly scan children as young as newborns to check how their nervous systems are developing.
